Confidently integrate conservation and environmental literacy in this hands on session, through the use of everyday curriculum. Explore the many connections between a species and its ecosystem, along with the diverse impacts of human actions. The session will expand on how this approach to learning about the interconnectedness of nature encourages conservation of these species.
Learn about how the Calgary Zoological Society encourages students to discover the important role of some key species and what we’re doing to aid the conservation of the species, by having a go at this hands on activity. Expand on this to develop its use for you in your classroom with discussion and ideas on how to extend the activity to suit your grade and curriculum needs. There is an outdoor portion so please dress appropriately.
